Have your say in Council's 2026 Community Survey from 6-25 October! You can complete the survey online or paper questionnaires are also available from the Naracoorte and Lucindale Council offices, Naracoorte Library and Lucindale Post Office. People who participate in the survey can enter a draw to win one of five $100 gift cards! The survey has been commissioned by Council and is being independently conducted by Further Insight. Information on becoming an Australian Citizen is available from the Department of Home Affairs on 131 881 or from its website at https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/citizenship/what-does-it-mean

The website provides information and answers questions ranging from how to apply for Australian Citizenship, an overview of the Citizenship test including how to prepare for the test, where you can sit the test, fees and how to track the progress of your application.

The Department of Home Affairs will notify you of the results of your test and in turn, they will notify Council - via a Citizenship Ceremony Planning Report.

The Department of Home Affairs will contact you and advise you of the date and details of the next scheduled Citizenship Ceremony.

Depending on the number of people, eligible ceremonies will usually be held in January, April, July and October.

Depending on the number of people participating in the Ceremony, it can be held in the Naracoorte Council Chambers (DeGaris Place) or in the Naracoorte Town Hall (Smith Street).
