Cemeteries

There are currently two open cemeteries located in the area.

The Naracoorte Cemetery is located approximately 1.8km north of the township on Playford Drive. There is no record of the exact date when the current cemetery opened but the Government Gazette of September 1864 included Naracoorte in a list of cemeteries to which new regulations applied, and the earliest headstone at the current cemetery relates to a death in January 1865. The date has sometimes been confused with the fact that the burial register did not begin until 1878. The Naracoorte Cemetery is still in use today.

The Lucindale Cemetery is located approximately 1.2km east of the township on Country Club Road. The cemetery was listed in the Government Gazette in 1878 but the burial register did not begin until 1890. It is still in use today.
