The awards will be presented at Australia Day celebrations in Naracoorte and Lucindale on Friday 26th January 2024.

  • Naracoorte's Australia Day celebrations will kick off with a free community breakfast in the Town Squares at 7am, with the official ceremony getting underway at 8am.
  • Lucindale's Australia Day ceremony will get underway at 11am at the Rotunda in Centenary Park followed by a free community barbecue lunch.

Both events will again be livestreamed after this initiative was a resounding success when it was introduced for the local 2022 Australia Day celebrations.

In 2024, Australians are being encouraged to come together for Australia Day to reflect, respect and celebrate their day in their way.

The National Australia Day Council (NADC) is encouraging Australians to celebrate being part of a proud, ancient, multicultural nation that values the contribution of every citizen.

NADC Chief Executive Mark Fraser AO CVO says: “As Australians, we are connected by a shared desire for unity, and the promise of safety, stability and prosperity that Australia represents.

“Australia Day is a day to listen to each other, accept our history and show understanding and respect for those around us.”

Naracoorte Lucindale Council is one of many Councils and community organisations throughout Australia that has received funding from the Australia Day 2024 Community Events Grant Program to organise, promote and host Australia Day events that encourage the community to reflect, respect and celebrate for Australia Day 2024.
