The amenity and outlook to Naracoorte’s popular Memorial Parklands will be enhanced with the undergrounding of power and removal and replacement of pine trees along Memorial Drive.
Council’s Botanic Working Group, which consists of community members who have knowledge and skills in tree management, have been evaluating suitable trees to plant once the old pines have been removed and the ground has been remediated.
The existing pine trees are at the end of their life and unsafe due to decay and dead branches which fall from the trees. They are also interfering with nearby power lines.
