Director Operations Resignation

Naracoorte Lucindale Council’s Director Operations, Steve Bourne has resigned from Council.

Mr Bourne, has worked for the Naracoorte Lucindale Council since July 2011, commencing as the Director of Planning and Community Services and then in April 2015 accepting the position of Director Operations.

Some of the major projects that have been completed during Mr Bourne’s nine years with the Naracoorte Lucindale Council are the upgrade of stormwater drainage in the Naracoorte, undergrounding powerlines and upgrading the road and streetscape along Robertson Street, developing and implementing masterplans for Memorial Parklands and Market Square, upgrades to the Naracoorte Aerodrome and the construction of the Lucindale Road roundabout which assisted in the development of the adjacent industrial land.

Mr Bourne has been a strong advocate for the Naracoorte Regional Livestock Exchange with the many improvements completed, including: installation of the waste water treatment plant and weighbridge, construction of the roof over the cattle selling yards, upgrading the cattle loading ramps, and the upgrade of cattle selling pens.  Many of these projects have been partly funded with external government grants.

During Mr Bourne’s tenure he has overseen major road reconstructions including Butler Terrace, Old Caves Road, Coles Killanoola Road, Kingston Avenue and the Grubbed Road Bridge construction.  Other road reconstructions include Fern Street, Pearson Street, Straun Street, Young Drive, Kowree Court, Globe Street, Flinders Lane, Campbell Street, Barclay Avenue, Platt Crescent, McCoy Street and Fifth and Second Streets, Frances.

Under the stewardship of Mr Bourne, the Naracoorte Creek and Creek Walk Masterplan, Naracoorte Aerodrome Masterplan and Naracoorte Caves Trial Plan have recently been adopted by Council and will be implemented over the coming years.

“On behalf of the Council, I sincerely thank Mr Bourne for his leadership and commitment to the Naracoorte Lucindale Council and community and we wish Mr Bourne every success in his new role as General Manager of the Limestone Coast Landscape Board,'' CEO Trevor Smart said.
