Team Member – Operations (Parks & Gardens)
- Permanent Full-time Position
- 76 hours per fortnight/9-day fortnight
- $61,389 per annum ($31.0678 per hour)
Council is seeking to appoint a suitable person to its Operations Department. The position is primarily based in the Parks & Gardens team at the Naracoorte Depot, though there may be occasions where commencement will be from the Lucindale depot.
Duties will include:
- Mowing, weeding, garden maintenance, landscaping, weed spraying, edging and tree trimming;
- Minor repairs to infrastructure;
- Inspect and repair irrigation systems and monitor watering regimes;
- Preparation and restitution of burial sites and cremation plots in Council’s cemeteries, including excavation, backfilling and re-opening of graves;
- Inspections, including water quality testing, at the Naracoorte Swimming Lake;
- Assisting with the delivery of the Works Program
This position involves additional hours outside normal work hours, including weekends and public holidays.
Ability to meet the physical demands of a position requiring manual labour and experience in the use of small equipment and ride on mowers is essential.
Competency in the operation of a small loader and a HR driver’s licence is essential or a willingness to obtain upon appointment.
