The Sheep's Back Museum
Discover one of Australia's top small museums at The Sheep's Back Museum, a lovingly created portrayal of the stories of the people and the wool industry in this region. Feel part of the picture and satisfy the senses as you step back in time and explore this frozen drama. Incorporated in The Sheep's Back Museum is the Limestone Landscapes Exhibition which provides an overview of the people and the landscapes of the region. This exhibit provides a setting for the museum displays and fits together the jigsaw puzzles of the region, providing information on why things happen where they do throughout the Limestone Coast.
The main galleries of this award winning museum are located in a stone flour mill built in the 1860's. A separate wool technology display includes a huge and unique robotic shearing machine. Other interesting outside exhibits are also available to view with the purchase of a ticket.
Group bookings are available and lunch, morning and afternoon tea can be supplied by prior arrangement. Volunteer tour guides are also available for groups on request.
